Research

Research that’s collaborative and interdisciplinary at its core

A mixed methods approach

At Equalise, we foster interdisciplinary collaboration and champion mixed methods research.

A focus on impact

Co-producing research is the first step. We then translate it into evidence for shaping real-word policy and practice towards health equity.

Our research themes

We focus on tackling unfair and avoidable health inequities across four key themes: Learning, Work, Care, and Place.

Learning

The Learning theme focuses on early years and vocational education to break cycles of disadvantage. We address socioeconomic gaps in child development and access to quality education.

Work

The Work theme investigates job quality, health, and economic inactivity. We explore how poor working conditions and rising illness affect workforce participation, aiming to inform inclusive employment policies.

Care

The Care theme examines unpaid caregiving and its impact on wellbeing. We seek policy solutions to support carers and reduce gender, ethnic, and socioeconomic disparities.

Place

The Place theme explores how local environments, infrastructure, and social cohesion shape health outcomes. We support place-based policy innovation through collaboration with communities and decision-makers.
