Equalise is the ESRC Centre for Lifecourse Health Equity, dedicated to generating rigorous, interdisciplinary research that drives policy change, for a fairer, healthier society.
Our mission is to produce and share multi-disciplinary research tackling and reducing health inequities from a lifecourse perspective, and provide evidence-based solutions for policy makers.
What we do
We turn evidence into action, informing inclusive, equitable policies for a healthier society.
We work with over 30 partners across academia, government, and the third sector to address the root causes of health inequities, from early education and job quality to unpaid caregiving and place-based health.
Our research is shaped by public voices through advisory groups, scrutiny panels, and citizens’ juries, ensuring relevance and accountability.
Using mixed methods and simulation modelling, we develop and evaluate policy proposals in real-world contexts, aligning with national strategies to shift the focus from treating sickness to preventing it.
